Fifth Annual NARG Meeting at The Wanderers Club

WE were excited to attend The North American Riders Group’s (NARG) fifth annual meeting on February 17th, 2015 at the Wanderers Club in Wellington, FL. Headed by President Chris Kappler, the group boasts a plethora of top ranked riders that are involved in the organization with their motto, “Together, we can improve our sport”.

The meeting included a full agenda including a 5 year review of the organization, plans for the future, the election of two new board members, Lauren Hough and Tiffany Foster, as well as ranked the “The Top 25 of 2014” horse shows in North America.

Over 50 different events were evaluated, and the top three are as follows:
1. Spruce Meadows, with a score of 96%
2. Thunderbird Show Park, with a score of 94%
3. The American Gold Cup, with a score of 91%

NARG also presented The $15,000 NARG Rider’s Grant, which is “Designed to enable a rider dedicated to the sport of show jumping an opportunity to achieve levels of performance they otherwise may not have been able to attain”. This award was presented to Julie Welles, who has shown significant dedication to the sport in her achievements in the sport of show jumping.
