WE was pleased to attend the 5th Annual Jump for HomeSafe, a charity fundraising event that took place on January 10th, 2015 at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center benefitting the HomeSafe Organization. The annual fundraiser, co-chaired by Hanna Patten, Lillie Keenan, and Samantha Wight, boasted a fun evening of cocktails, appetizers, dinner and a silent auction. The event took place during the notorious Battle of the Sexes, a fun-filled show jumping event under the Saturday Night Lights.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a warm smile from staff, and offered a light appetizer while the silent auction was open for shopping. Many picked up the antiques on display and basked in the joy of distant memories of the unique items and were delighted that they were all in functioning order. The Battle of the Sexes Jumper Event, which pitted men against women in three separate classes, began as guest looked on through the glass windows and cheered for their favorite team. During the event, Patten, Keenan, and Wight, chairs for the fundraiser, spoke to the guests about how HomeSafe has made a significant impact in their lives. They spoke about their personal experiences in visiting the center, and how it opened their eyes to the positive work the charity has done and continued to inspire them in their involvement with HomeSafe. During their visit, they witnessed first hand the amazing things HomeSafe provides for families, such as programs that help victims of child abuse and domestic violence. Patten then proceeded to present a check to HomeSafe’s CEO, Matt Ladika, for the amount of likes the girls received on Facebook during their social media fundraiser, in which she had agreed to donate to the charity $1 per “like”. The three co-chairs were then presented with special plaques that featured drawings and flowers made by some of the children that HomeSafe has directly impacted.
